Maybe I shouldn't complain about boredom in Tokyo, as it turned out, this past week was rather exciting.
On Monday morning Nicole was diagnosed with the dreaded H1N1 influenza virus, the doctor prescribed a 5 day course of Tamiflu... bad idea.
By Monday evening the combination of a high fever and Tamiflu caused her to have horrible nightmares, screaming in terror... as I found out later on the net, Tamiflu apparently has rather nasty neuropsychiatric side effects especially on children.
Anyway the positives of the medication outweighed the negatives and by the next day she was feeling better, by Thursday she was almost completely fine save for a rather throaty cough.
She's all better now and just in the nick-of-time as the Chuahs will be heading to Shinagawa, from Tokyo Disneyland, this Saturday for a 5 day stay. At least we don't have to quarantine Nicole from the other three kids.

phew...
Glad to know that everything turned out well. By the way, out of curiosity, how did they diagnose the flu specifically?
They stuck a long cotton bud up her nose and took a swab of mucus... then I'm not sure, maybe the lab attendant tasted it, but they were 100% positive it was H1N1.
